Welcome to Mrs. Lask's Class

Rules and Expectations

Students will be expected to follow all school rules as stated in the student handbook.  Along with those rules, I manage my classroom with the following:

  • be on time

  • be prepared

  • be respectful

  • be productive

In the event a student fails to meet expectations, a parent or guardian will be contacted to discuss the best course of action to encourage his or her student to make better choices.

Homework Policy

Homework is expected to be completed on time to ensure that students do not fall behind in class.  A student who does not have his or her homework fully completed on the due date.  A reduction in the grade will occur for any work turned in past the due date.  Please see sixth grade math for more specifics.

When absent, it is the student's responsibility to turn in homework that was due during the absence and pick up any missed assignments.  This work should be turned in quickly to avoid falling behind.

When a student is absent, homework can be requested for parent pick up that day by calling the attendance secretary at 655-6800 ext. 22117, or the student may pick up the work when they return to school.  Students may also access Schoology for the assignments.

Grades will be posted on Tigerview on a weekly basis.

Please note:   The homework policy is subject to change during these unprecedented times.  Parents and students will be made aware of any changes via email. Thank you for your understanding

Homework Help/Math Tutoring

Homework Help will be provided via Zoom weekly by Mrs. Lask.  The dates, times, and Zoom login information will be made available through Schoology.

Communication

I believe that communication is key for the success of any relationship.  I also promote being proactive in my actions towards classroom concerns rather than reactive.  With that being said, I will do my best to communicate with you and your student throughout the year through emails, phone calls, newsletters and conferences. In the event a concern about your student does arise, I will express that concern in a timely manner.  I ask my families to do the same if they have any concerns.  Please feel free to contact me at any time in the event you have any questions or concerns about your student's progress.  From daily homework to quarterly grades, I am here to help.  I want to see your student succeed.

I look forward to working with you to develop your student's mathematical skills to the fullest of his or her ability.   Math is a subject that builds upon itself, and I do not want your student to miss out on any step along our journey this year.  Therefore, I encourage your student to seek help as he or she needs it.  They should not wait until test day to get the help they need.  As I say, no one can start training for a marathon the day before the race.  It takes practice and determination to be successful.

Again, please do not hesitate to contact me with your questions or concerns.  I thank you in advance for the continued support you give to your student's education and to Liberty Middle School.

Sincerely,

   Mrs. Kyle Lask
