About Me

MY TEACHING HISTORY

I have known I wanted to be a math teacher since I started tutoring pre-algebra students when I was just 14 years old.  Throughout college, I worked as a summer camp counselor with students ages 6-14.  My professional teaching experience includes one year teaching seventh grade math at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Decatur, Illinois, six years teaching eighth grade math at Alton Middle School, and two years as the eighth grade teacher at St. Boniface School in Edwardsville.  I am looking forward to this being a great year at Liberty Middle School.  GO PANTHERS!

MY HISTORY

I grew up in a small town in central Illinois with my parents and younger brother.  Throughout school I was an active student, participating in volleyball, basketball, track, choir, and drama.  After high school, I attended Illinois State University earning a bachelors degree in elementary education.  Shortly after graduation, I married my college sweetheart.  Later that same year, we adopted our dog, Jimmie.  Once children came along, I took a break from teaching to stay home with my boys.  We are an active family who like to root on the Cardinals and Blues!  In my free time, I enjoy gardening, cooking, and spending time outside - especially lakeside.
